 JANET'S PLANET

Winter

Photobucket

Calm peaceful rivers below
Moving swiftly overflow
Surrounded by dark deep woods
Gigantic majestic trees once stood

Dull cloudy gray misty skies
Cry as each leaf dies
Barren trees look like toothpicks spread out
Brittle leaves scatter all about

Winter prepares its cozy bed
As we slowly move ahead
Wrapping ourselves during melancholy days
Each struggling painfully in our own way

November carries its hidden gloom
Escapes to make room
For winter's frozen hardened icy cast
Freezing snow blowing drifting blast

We all do whatever we must
To protect ourselves from the rushing gust
Weathering through winter's terrible storm
Glowing flames keeping us warm

Spring will arrive in full bloom
We will forget winter's chill then groom
For brighter happier days
As we thaw from winter each in our own way
