The sky was as blue as a robins egg
The fields and trees were frosted white
We walked a while that winters day
Gingerly though steadfastly making our way
Marvelling at each new haw frosted sight
Just my ever-faithful friend and me
My ever-faithful friend, my Meg
Feeling weary, we sat on an old fallen log
Whilst a golden sun shimmered in a wintry sky
Such a glorious day though ‘twas now time to go
We took of our leave, though reluctantly slow
Walking and thinking, “ oh how time does fly”
Just my ever-faithful friend and me
An old man out walking with his old faithful dog
