Christmas 1968
Christmas 1968 We laughed and said "Merry Christmas Viet Cong" Exhausted we all fell into bed Listened to Aretha and her song Sleep was not to be All of a sudden such an Explosion 1 guy said "it's the VC " Out the door, rifles in hand Noise so loud and lights so bright Gooks were running everywhere We had them in our sights Rockets and mortars, flashed in the air Everything a mess, scared we do confess We fought and finally overcome All this fight in our state of undress Remembering later Santa would come But!! St. Nick took 1 look and away he went Calling his reindeer to run like hell Yelled your presents will be sent We knew the story he would tell He cried out Merry Christmas Get home soon, and good night We got no sleep, but we didn't fuss We had endured a hell of a fight _________________ when all media is confiscated Poet's shall show them the way CREATED BY, JD.
