COMEDY CLUB

Valentines day we went to the Comedy club
Dressed in our finest the wealthy elbows rub
From the parking lot a six block walk
The poor, the alcoholics, cocaine addicts block
"Culd you spare a dollar friend I need to eat?"
A lit cigarette dangling from the beak
Eyes glazed from another night of endless drinking
Sorry friend but another bottle of booze you are seeking
The comedy---all about the drugs the comedian was taking
The seventies lifestyle my friend I am not forsaking
It wasn't comedy it was about sex, drugs and abuse
Outside in the alley those products dying of misuse
