I have lived on your ancient streets
and eaten full of your hospitality.
I have walked arm in arm with your people
and felt the heat of fire in their hearts
as it warmed all that was cold about me.
I have prayed at the wall… your wall Jerusalem
that ancient place that man claims so holy
yet divides his children like no other.
I have seen life blossom in young and old
I have seen life taken… so very very cold
Jerusalem you have all that man desires…
yet you trap our spirits in your heart,
and we only ravage, destroy… tear apart
to win approval and right to walk your streets.
