Two lonely people
Living on the street
In the wrong direction
One day the two will meet
Trying to brave the weather
Keeping warm at night
Sleeping on the concrete
Amongst the neon lights
Shadows from the people
Slowly walking by
Never seem to notice
The tears in their eyes
Do they have a problem
Can't they take the time
They won't even help them
Won't even spare a dime
Two lonely people
On the same old path
Never going nowhere
Tormented by their past
Scrounging for a meal
Hope that they will find
Looking for a handout
Will someone be so kind?
Clothes are torn and tattered
As they scrounge for cans
She's a lonely woman
He's a lonely man
They come across each other
A friendship they did find
These two lonely people
Who've come across tough times
Two lonely strangers
Helping one another
Turned away by many
By their fellow brothers
Living in the open
Living day by day
Living life like beggars
It is the only way
They still believe they're special
Despite the way they live
They look at all the people
Who still refuse to give
These two could be your mother
Sister or your dad
To help them is so simple
To walk on by is so sad
