Look At Me

to my children, I love you...Jesus

You always look at your pain
never really thinking about the pain of others
Look at Me

You always feel hurt and heartaches
not really knowing how others feel
Look at Me

You think about all of your problems
never realizing the exact nature of another's problems
Look at Me

You worry so much about days gone by
not knowing what others went through
Look at Me

You don't focus on today
never wondering about someone else's day
Look at Me

You truly don't look out at tomorrow
or concern yourself about another's future
Look at Me

For if you looked at Me, you'd see

I endured pain
nails in My hands and feet
a spear was pierced through My side
they placed a crown of thorns on My head
I endured pain
I looked at you

I felt hurt and heartaches
the weight of the cross was heavy
strips from the whips cut deep
the thirst I had was never quenched
laughter and mockery burdened Me
I felt hurt and heartaches
I looked at you

I thought about My problems
being punished although I was innocent
branded a criminal though I committed no crime
being tortured and beaten for no cause
being hanged on a cruel cross for sins not of My own
I thought about My problems
I looked at you

I worried about days gone by
everyone was told of their sins- but continued
all were told of forgiveness- they never ask
they were forewarned- but did not heed the signs
I worried about days gone by
I looked at you

I focused on today
My message was sent to the world
I gave My love to you freely- unconditional
My will for you was eternal life
I focused on today
I looked at you

I looked out at tomorrow
offered you redemption if you believed
offered you forgiveness if you repented
I offered you Salvation  if you only ask
I promised you life with Me for eternity
I continue to prepare your mansion with Me in Heaven
I looked out at tomorrow
I looked at you

Jesus
