Comrades In Arms
(Proud to be) To the left and to the right As far as you can see Regardless of service branch Unit or squad In a fox hole or a bunker be found No atheist to be sure Bombs pounding, mortars booming The survivor instinct on full Brave and courageous Scared in explosive events They speak UN connected words And mis aligned thoughts When it gets close Lips tremor, bodies shake Stand their ground, ready for their fate Say a prayer for all who fight Theirs is not about wants Strangers when they meet But forever buddies war entwined (Comrades in Arms) Semper Fi (Dedicated to all who have answered the call) __________ JDW2008©
