  October's Child

LATTE

LATTE

Join me this afternoon, if you dare slip away
Stroll past a Rembrandt, sip a painted day
Fireflies trace the path, dusk begins to fall
Darkness lies in layers, silence seals it all

*********

A frescoed kind of morning, umber colored place
Play me like a pantomime, trace this porcelain face
My mind is full of colors, they all blend as one
As twilight's bluest collar, encircles morning's sun

*********

I dwell beneath God's wings, my fervent gentle soul
As one never birthed,I'm the bell without a toll
Walking inside the silence, residing within my mind
A casual breeze arises, another pulls the blind

*********

The river flows in circles across the rugged rocks
A distant sound of splashing from the nearby auks
Threads of life we weave upon the silvered land
Through our golden years across the zone we span
