Kendra

In Dedication to Kendra Daniel Gay
Our youngest grandchild of four

Our only granddaughter

Kendra will be two
March 30, 2008

Wrapped completely
Around all ten of her chubby
Little fingers . . .
Is her Daddy

Our Son speaks

Well my little angel Kendra
You will soon be two years old

It seems like only yesterday
That you were given to us by God
One more angel entrusted
To Daddy's care

If he only knew what gifts
He has given me

What am I saying

It is I who sometimes forgets
To take a look around

I have been given so many
Gifts in my lifetime

In you a gift of sugar and spice
Mixed with a little dynamite

It makes me laugh to see how
You will not let yourself take
Second seat to anyone

Even your rough and tumble
Brothers can't get anything
Over on you

It is so wonderful to watch
As you discover
Who  are your hero's

To watch Jacob and Andrew
Become so protective
Of you even now
Brings visions of the future

I must seem like a giant to you
And yet you place the gentlest of
Tiny hands upon my cheeks . . .

Lifting you from my shoulders
To look directly into the depths
Of the smallest of souls

The eminsity of pools of blue
Radiates the warmth of love . . .

Too young yet to realize
What it is that you give so freely

Throwing your arms around my
Neck with a sweet
''I Wov You''
Off you go to find new discoveries

So see my little love
It is you
That is the giant
Not I

What's a Daddy to do but fall
Totally under your hypnotic spell

Your brother's will grow up to be men.

But you . . .

You will always be Daddy's little angel
And Mommy's little princess

Happy Birthday Kendra
You have made our family complete
And we all love you

Your Grandma writes what I know
Your Daddy's heart feels
When he looks into those enormous
And oh so beautiful blue eyes

Happy Second Birthday Kendra

Grandma does not know you
Or your brothers like I would wish
Too many miles and time to get to you
Prevents that
But . . .
I know of the smiles you bring
And the love you bring us all

Always my love
Grandma Gay

Your Mommy's Princess
Your Brothers' soulmate
And . . . .
You Daddy's Angel

Our smallest of miracles . . . .

I saw God today
He smiled at me
And said

"Your Welcome"

Always my love

Daddy
