BASIC TRAINING

This being veteran's day
I served in the Army National Guard
Don't anyone say these are not soldiers
Try basic in Yakima 110 degrees
Joined the Air Force and became a Medic
No I did not roller skate through basic training
But I did go swimming once
Pulling a downed pilot out of water
Sent to tech school at Great Lakes Naval base
Lucky me those Sailors were going through basic
My third time in basic in three years
Did you know navy Corpsman serve as Marine Corpsman?
Our drill Sergeant was a marine
He tried to make a Marine out of an out of shape Airman
God bless all you men and women serving your country
