Gee mom, I saw four colored boys singing today
They are really good they sing DoWop
They made a record and are best in the talent show
Well it is lights out and I have to go

What I didn't say was days later I was asked to be
the token white in the group. The Madadors won the
contest with a white boy who did not sing. They had
to change the name of the band coming home. There was another
group called the Madadors. I left them in San Francisco.
As I listen to the Marcels today I wonder. "Blue Moon--I saw you
standing alone." The lead singer of the Madadors was
Marcel. Could it be? The Marcels are one of the first
mixed black and white do wop groups.
