Born fatherless except the day of birth
Known poverty but never have I been homeless
I have known the pains of poverty and pangs of hunger
But I have never been unloved
I have known loneliness but never been alone
I have been unemployed but never unemployable
I have known the privelige of wealth
But have never myself been wealthy
For my richness comes in enjoying my life
I have sweep the floors of the rich for pennies
Have handed a stranger one fourth of my days earnings
As a fatherless child I am not complaining
For the blessings I know have no need of explaining
Life from the beginning is what we make of our time on earth
And each childs beginning starts equal at time of birth
