Often in my poetry I mention the littlest Angel.
Here is the story. I was eleven. First vacation
ever out of the State of Washington. We were
going to Knox Berry Farm. Stopped in San Francisco
to visit a lifelong friend of my Mother's. There
was sadness in the room. The littlest Angel was
five. Blondie curly hair beautiful blue eyes. She
sat on my lap. there was instant love shared. I
read her stories on my lap. Weeks later Mom came
with tears in her eyes, "Remember the little girl
you so loved in San Francisco? We didn't tell you
she was dying of Leukemia. She died today. Her last
word were tell Dandy I love him."
From that time when I need comfort I look to the
Littlest Angel. Today I was tired. Lay down in the
room the plaque of the littlest Angel looks down on
me. Yesterday I asked a special favor. Today I looked
up and there were two Angels on the wall. I am sure
there always have been two. But the message came to
me that she heard my plea. We all have Angels you and me.
