Foundation of Lies

There is no one I know that will speak the truth,
yet the truth is all that I seek.
There is no one I know that is strong enough,
to admit that lies make us weak.
We build to the sky on foundations of lies,
only to ponder where this will lead?
Then feast at our tables while young ones die hungry,
crying out for more souls to bleed.
Our leaders are liars always making ‘their deals',
while the price is paid on the streets.
Young lives just wasting as false promise now realised
for many it just ends in defeat.
Where is the wisdom of false promise among nations…
knowing all that we'll see are more wars?
Young men so brave and barely fully grown
also young women will die for some cause.
Sometimes I feel we need to tear it all down,
before it tears mankind apart.
Then hold out our hands to all that would greet us
for the others… just offer up our hearts.
