I wish I knew when the good times
were coming and the bad times going
Thunder and lightning falling rain
Kids laughing and playing its snowing
Pretty baskets and flowers growing
The sounds of winter winds blowing
And then the phone it rings
A friend has died the message brings
At the funeral you say, "I loved you!"
Somehow inside you know they must have knew
Children live forever--nice people never die
I should have showed my love before--!
the tears falling from your eye
So I say to you hug your friends
Your children tell them you love them
Give freely a hug now and then
I don't believe in putting flowers on a grave
For the flowers in their lifetime should have gave
So all my friends know that I love you
And those not friends--differences, I love you too!
