It was a few years ago.
I was young not yet in the golden oldies
Bright sunshiny morning
Radio was playing oldies, lost in space
The sign read reaching summit
What was I doing at the summit?
So I backtracked down the mountain
Where had I been going?
No cellphone--couldn't call home
Finally at the bottom of mountain
So I looked for a payphone.
The kids soccer fields-- there were payphones
I put a quarter in and was dialing
A dozen kids were running at me yelling
Nine in the morning I had driven two hours
"The referee is herewe don't have to cancel the game!"
