" The Wishing Well"
The "Wishing Well" had no secret powers
To make dreams happen. . . Or give hope
Just some stones, with water trickling
And, an old bucket attached to a rope
Dropping coins in the wishing well
I uttered a request. . . quietly
Just then, a tear fell down my cheek
My heart was breaking, inside of me
The legend of the wishing well
Through centuries, handed down
Had many secrets it could tell
To bring a smile, from that frown
Having faith, as I dropped that coin
Might bring my wish, on it's way
Yet, since then. . . I have learned
To expect the same, when I pray
When we pray, and make a request
Faith is what sees us . . . Through
God hears our plea, He knows best
Without the "Ceremonial" ado
Wishing Wells, have been around
For many years, we know . . .
Yet, if I have a wish or a dream
It's to God, in Heaven. . . I'll go!
