Radiant golden bands exchanged,
Rings, symbolic of never ending love,
Exchanged as vows given and taken,
Witnessed by family and God above.
The rings once symbolic of eternal love,
Vows left neglected in life's many twists,
No longer underpin security and trust,
Seems nothing is left off life's can do list.
We know full well that sickening pain,
The pain of desertion and shattered trust,
Relationships voided of love and life,
The wedding dream smeared with unfettered lust.
Night after night mourning for lost dreams,
No relief from the mix of hate and vengeance,
Broken, numbness chains one to misery,
Haunted by the evil ghost of a dead romance.
The Creator knows that pain all too well,
His people on earth chasing every thrill,
Denying that He ever existed,
Caring not that He paid redemption's bill.
His promises are faithful and true,
Never will he abandon his loved ones,
He wants to give peace, hope and joy,
To heal those pains, mend those broken bones.
He is waiting, arms open wide,
Sends his message on the wings of a dove,
He wants to put a ring on your finger,
United for ever in heavenly love.
