Silently you creep down the stairs
The dog sleeping in a corner unawares
Upstairs all the children are sleeping
For it is some solitude you are seeking
In the shadows strange creatures creaping
As in a corner chair you await in silence
Outside a robin sings on a nearby fence
Then you hear it first a creeking on a walls
Then a childs voice to another softly calls
Soon the sounding of feet down the stairs
And loudly laughing lost in childlike cares
And you know now a new day for it starts anew
Your solitude has ended they are seeking you
In the corner of the room you start the coffee to brew
For once again it is time to get the kids off to school
