 Elsie`s Poetry

A YEAR OLDER

  A YEAR OLDER

**    **

Each year when I go on holiday
I never come back quite the same way,
For it`s my Birthday when I am there
No family with me my day to share.

 **  **

It has always fallen that I`m away
From being little to the present day,
I`d be at my Aunties without Mum and Dad
I missed them on my Birthday and I was sad.

**   **

Now I miss my family the same way
`Cause I`m never at home on that day,
I`ve my cards and presents to bring away
But it`s not the same I have to say.

 **  **

The day I leave for my holiday
There is one thing to my kids I always say
Thanks for my presents I put in my pack
I`ll be a year older when I get back.
