"O DEATH WHERE IS THY STING"--A Message from Lazarus
My name is Lazarus-Two sisters I have,
Mary and Martha, for them I'm glad.
Bethany's our home, Jesus is our friend,
Who came to visit, yes, time and again.
To us, He's Special, a "One of a Kind,"
Who shares His Wisdom, His Light He does shine.
I'm here to tell you that beyond all doubt,
He's the Messiah God's Word speaks about!
I have first hand proof of His Grand Power,
Beyond mortal man, yes, He doth tower.
For I was once sick, I actually died,
And that for His help, my sisters had cried.
His coming too late, to spare me from death,
I had been entombed and breathed my last breathe.
When Jesus arrived He saw many cry,
Sad at my passing, and He too, did sigh.
He spoke to my kin thus them to console,
Who truly believed His Gift to make whole.
He came to my grave, moved by all their tears,
And they saw His too, He counted me dear!
He said, "Move the stone." My sister relied,
"He's been there too long- to be by his side."
He said, "Don't you know, I will wake the dead?"
"Yea,in the Last Day," so my sister said.
The stone was removed and there Jesus prayed,
A Miracle came, yes, on that same day!
He shouted my name, "Come forth!" was His word,
And all were amazed, e'en in death, I heard!
Thus by His command, from death I arose,
And still being bound in all my grave clothes.
"Unbind him," He said, and thus, "Let him free."
May all praise the Lord, He did so for me!
I tell you, firsthand, that Power He did show,
I truly believe, All shall come to know.
I will not fear death, for He has the Keys,
Thus to triumph o'er the grave and Hades.
He will raise the dead, both the great and small,
The dead shall come forth, when they hear His call.
Yet, as He taught, this call from the tomb,
For some will mean Joy, for many, but Doom!
My Life illustrates His Marvelous Power,
Thus by Him I live, each day and each hour.
This life is so brief, I'll cling to this Friend,
For what He has done, He'll sure do again!
