Betrayed down to the finish, betrayed right from the start.
Betrayed by good intentions, betrayed by bad advice,
Betrayed by hot emotions, and logic cold as ice.
Betrayed by lack of reason, betrayed by too much thought,
Betrayed by those who taught you, betrayed by those you taught.
Betrayed by understanding, betrayed by lack of care,
Betrayed by all those present and by those who were not there.
Betrayed by too much arrogance, betrayed by lack of pride,
Betrayed by all the living, betrayed by those who died
Betrayed by disappointments, betrayed by groundless hopes,
Betrayed by intellectuals, betrayed by mindless dopes.
Betrayed by those who do not hear and those who do not see,
Betrayed by those who do not think, betrayed, in short, by me.
