pastures green

I'm going down to pastures green
where all the trees are evergreen
where love of nature paints the scene
where love and peace will grace my dreams

I'm going down to skies of blue
where clouds float by above the dew
where squirrels and rabbits flip on by
where there's room for lovers you and I

im going down to pastures new
where idle talk is overdue
where folks all smile most every day
where farmers work amongst the hay

I'm going down where church bells ring
where the village clock doth chime the time n sing
where ducks and swift fly on the wing
where lambs all frolic every spring

I'm going down to meadows sweet
where lovers stroll and zunners meet
where swans all glide upon the frome
where life is bliss and i call home

im going down to purbeck towns
where childrens smiles are handed down
where lovers kiss upon the green
where folks all dance each Halloween

I'm going down to where ships set sail
where spray is rich and waves do swell
where sailors jaunt upon the bay
where young lads and galls meet Saturdays

I'm going down to woods of green
where orchards grace the evergreen
where flowers bloom and mothers sigh
where kids were just a wink in their daddy's eye
