The Days of Cheer.

This poem came into my mind, one day when I was thinking about my younger days.
When all we did was to enjoy each day as it came.

   The Days of Cheer

We danced sang and drank lots of beer
Days of fun that had never seemed to end
In our minds we could not pretend
We all knew that these times one day would end

One by one our numbers fell
Why and when who could tell
Some went to pastures new
Where others went we never knew

Whatever we all have done
If we have lost or won
Those days of sun fun and beer
Will remain to each one of us
So very dear
