Observations of the Heart
Your heart in the hands of the Lord,
Is like the water of the streams;
In flowing they cannot be ignored,
As it trickles down through the seams.
He thinks of it as a treasure,
As He watches the water flows;
Direction turns at His pleasure,
With changing its course as it goes.
Every way a man seems right,
In the direction one may go;
But not for the Lord in His sight,
Because what the future may know.
The Lord is the tester of hearts,
To check attitudes and motives;
And seeing which path one departs,
Along with the effort one gives.
To do what is right and is true,
Is more pleasing unto the Lord;
Than offerings given by you,
Rather living in one accord.
