Did Christ give life when you were dead,
For the sinful thoughts in your head;
As you were living in the past,
While feeling like an outcast.
Following the ways of this earth,
And not seeing of its true worth;
Being blinded by the pleasures,
By the glitter of its treasures.
Doing the pleasure of the Lord,
Having been completely ignored;
And no time to honor and laud,
For working with those against God.
Being full of mercy and grace,
God does see the look on your face;
Through the greatest love one to know,
In which all of His blessings flow.
Yet at a time when we were dead,
He blest with salvation instead;
If we quit fleshy desires,
To save us from the lake of fires.
