The Spiritual Common Sense
Let me make a request of you,
With each and every day through;
Be calm and gentle behavior,
Just as with Christ our Savior.
Even I am of poor in spirit,
If getting in an old habit;
And with starting to go away,
I am nearly tempted to stray.
But I keep Jesus on my mind,
Just how compassionate and kind;
That helps me to make a comeback,
And keeping me on the right track.
So to you I make a request,
Or just say if I may suggest;
Even though temptations persist,
Give extra effort to resist.
For though in the flesh as we walk,
Satan will continue to talk;
So remember your best defense,
Is a spiritual common sense.
