NIGHTMARES

What began as a dream ends as a nightmare
Reading of Vampires and goblins beware
For they walk around pale with sightless eyes
In the middle of the night a Raven cries
What in the attic did I hear something creek?
Eyes that are running red from lack of sleep
But I know in daylight I must go up there
Voices whisper in the night, "Come up if you dare?"
Wife says, "You have to go up bring down Christmas lights."
Whatever happened to the day men had rights?
Nothing more scary than putting out lights again
It happens once a year a battle I cannot win
