Empty of hope

I am emptied of all that was given me
drained of the strength that was mine
forsaken of love that just dripped away
left empty of hope for all time.
Once I was strong and so full of life
there was nothing that was something to hard
I always found a way to break it down
then the memory I'd simply discard.
Now my strength is tired of being strong
if only for a soft smile to see
so tired of fighting many futile wars
having no one to lay down with me.
Love was for me always a shinning star
it would be my salvation I prayed…
then love after love broke down and cried
and I was left with nothing to say.
Now so empty of hope after all has gone
only my shadow can hear my tears fall
and the echo of years only whispered soft
for there is no one to hear my heart call.
