Shouldn't Be
Why is it like this?
Where did it go?
All the happiness, laughter…
I miss what I used to know…
It shouldn't be like this;
All the hate, despair…
I shouldn't want a different life,
Wish to vanish into thin air
Why are you like this?
So spiteful and cold…
Withdrawn, uncaring
As if I were some worthless trinket
That you were sold
You shouldn't be like this;
You should want me here
You should enjoy watching me grow,
You should care how I feel
I shouldn't be like this;
Waiting to leave
Your face watching my back fade
Shouldn't be what I want to see
It shouldn't be like this;
I shouldn't feel all alone…
You shouldn't be pushing me away
I shouldn't still be searching for a home
