WHO SAID?

WHO SAID?

Who was it that said "Men shouldn`t cry"?
They can feel pain just like you and I,
Why is it they always have to be strong?
Whoever thinks that is selfish and wrong.

"You`re a sissy if you cry" they are told
But that is cruel and so very cold,
Men are taught to have a stiff upper lip
And to stop sniffling and get a grip.

Well this is my view, like it or not
I think men are forced to hide such a lot,
Being strong for us females is really great
But let them cry then their pain will abate.

Pent up emotions are not a good thing
Heartache and sorrow are what they will bring,
So let the men cry and don`t put them down
Give them a smile not a scowl or a frown.

It takes `a man` to show how he feels
It shows the soft side he seldom reveals,
But I will often sit and wonder why
Someone should say "That men shouldn`t cry".
