Six inches of snow on the ground
Not a thing in sight not a sound
Then I heard a kind of eerie pound
My favorite Blue Jay peeking on a tree
So I put out some seed heard his plea
Hadn't seen my Hummingbird for a day or two
Cooked up his favorite sugared brew
Down in the park sits a homeless man
He is freezing but to feed him is my plan
Too much booze you loose causes loneliness
At least we can keep him warm and feed without a fuss
Theres an extra blanket that is never used
And an old winter jacket sitting much abused
The rich man does not suffer sitting high above
But those who lack in caring also lack in real love
