Heart Of The Matter

The Final Chapter

Photobucket

I write the final chapter of my year,
It seemed to hold such promise, now denied,
My book of days now stained by blood and tear,
My faith so sorely tested, patience tried,

No matter how I tried to let it go,
Rise up against the tidal wave of pain,
Recovery seemed devious and slow,
And chose to knock my spirit back again,

The many lessons learned; I'll not forget,
Betrayal by some friends I thought I knew,
This year, will surely pass with no regret,
And true friends will be counted, one and two,

I write the final chapter of my year,
Good riddance to the hurt, the pain the fear!
