 ramblings and things

devastation

following my past footsteps
down through the long hall
up the winding staircase
to a door hidden in the wall
that magic door
I will never find
unless I approach it
in a right frame of mind
for it to slide open
to that magical place
outside of dimensions
outside time and space
where past present future
interweave join merge meld
so all possibilities of existence
are displayed and briefly held
before different possibilities
are newly arrayed
making redundant
those previously displayed
then my room spins wildly
and I am outside on the stair
not even sure that I
was ever anywhere
my head is throbbing wildly
sickness and nausea the cost
and my room of possibilities
which may be nonexistent is lost
and I wonder will I ever achieve
that state to see once more
the shimmering outlines
of my maybe nonexistent door
and I retrace my past footsteps
down and through the long hall
my despair heightened as I see
only spare and unmarked brick wall
