The room was full today; A loud voice rising now
and then breaking the silence in displeasure
as personal objects were removed at the entrance
Gold chains, weapons, badges of anger removed
For anger and protests were left at the opening
Lots of bad things had been going on in the world
There was the terrorist bombings, the economy, a war
ongoing in Africa, Israel tired of the bombings
had crossed the border and they too were bombing.
So many Cancer patients, so many heart attacks,
flooding, a car wreck, a gunman gone mad killing
his wife and kids. Most of those would not be seen
today, they would go the direct route. Would not be
gathering in the waiting room. Now and then there
being an exception. These the head Angel would find
on the list.
There were decisions to be made. An overlooked mistake.
Someone praying at the last minute for forgiveness. The
Head Angel of forgiveness holding the list at the door.
There was no need to separate by race, color or creed,
All were just persons on this list. Human beings from
the wombs of the same mothers of all their Gods. Suddenly
a loud commotion. One voice of protest rising above the
silence,
"Excuse me---I believe I am first in line. Head Angel,
why are you taking this lowlife ahead of me. I know him
as not being Jewish. I am the chosen race. Why does God
take him first. Why he is a ---?" "Hush young man you
will be seen in the order of the list." Now an even louder
commotion in back, all languages heard in the same tongue,
"You infidel, not worthy of life. I am next chosen by Allah
of all Earthy righteousness, a promised Martyr. Must I wait all day for my
seventy five virgins?" I have prayed to Allah forty times this
day." You will get your turn Omar." The head Angel said in
a soft voice.
