Exhortation for Prayer
If you do truly believe,
Then surely you receive;
When you ask to Heaven,
Onto you be given.
The door will open wide,
If you truly do abide;
And knocked to enter in,
If you are free from sin.
You will surely be blest,
If you make a request;
When asking Him in prayer,
God of your heart will share.
Christ will never forsake,
Giving fish not a snake;
Nor stones instead of bread,
When you need to be fed.
The good your Father brings,
Of all heavenly things;
Like the air that we breathe,
Earth secured in a sheathe.
Like a bird on a perch,
The food it tries to search;
Will not hunger or thirst,
God lets not it be cursed.
