Sabbath Rest
After we have done our best,
The Lord has said that we should rest;
For six days you perform your deeds,
Then rest is what your body needs.
No rest for the weary you say,
But in the end God makes you pay;
If you are unable to do,
Let the fear of God be in you.
For those of us who have belief,
Know we must be having relief;
And you will be graciously blest,
If just one day you take a rest.
Six days God creates all things,
But rest is what the seventh brings;
So He expects the same that we,
A day of rest for you and me.
Six days as we are facing life,
Filled with the toils and the strife;
The Sabbath is to show respect,
Honoring God as we reflect.
So let us come into His place,
And nearer to the throne of grace;
For the mercy we may receive,
Through the faith in what we believe.
