A Day of Rest and Honor
Let us have strong desire,
Not to light any fire;
Just one day every week,
And only God that we seek.
For six days we do our best,
With one as a day of rest;
A day to watch Jesus shine,
As we worship the Divine.
For God gave us a decree,
That no one can disagree;
For not all work and no play,
As long as we do not stray.
Living and full of power,
The Word of God will scour;
So we must treat it as gold,
By doing as we are told.
Sharper than a two edge sword,
Slicing the foes of the Lord;
Dividing spirit from bone,
Casting them in the unknown.
So let us go to His place,
Sitting near His throne of grace;
For a time when we can ask,
Stopping our normal task.
