A POET IN ONES MIND

A poet that I be but only in ones mind
But will my poetry pass the test of time?
My words will they be quite profound?
Echoed by children to hear the sound
For I like some don't write for vanity
I would not buy the book I type for free
And who but a sad man would envy me?
For I work day and night at my trade
Only you can tell me if I've made the grade
To the publisher my work unturned I've sent
But to buy my work I'll send them not a cent
Some would point out honors but at what price?
For to receive false praise I must think twice
But there are those poets who survive the trade
And they are truly the honored for plans the made
