Mentoring Younger Men
Not a leader in the church,
But I continually search;
To witness for Jesus Christ,
And why He was sacrificed.
In knowing the whole story,
And of the coming glory;
A portion of it is mine,
And never would I decline.
I keep watch over the flock,
As salvation is like a rock;
Because I really do care,
Remembering them in prayer.
With getting up there in years,
And having out grown my fears;
While I am growing old,
Makes me more brazen and bold.
But bold in the sense of right,
Because I have seen the light;
To show younger men the way,
Whenever they go astray.
Not a keeper of the sheep,
But I get a better sleep;
For knowing that I could steer,
In helping a younger peer.
