Preliminaries

She is my very perfect model
Scantily dressed yet not nude
The pose a little provocative
Not chaste yet surely not lewd

I sketch her very quickly
Each stroke sure and methodical
Before she tires and her pose
Turns to somewhat mechanical
I work on in silence
Insist no word be spoken
For with any converse
The spell would be broken
And I cease to be the artist
Just become another self
And she like a side of beef
On the butcher's coolroom shelf

One last quick stroke
An outline to work on
My very perfect model
Lazily stretches and is gone
