Words of the Heart
I look not for you to bless,
Anything that I profess;
Rather a chance to take pride,
What I gave you deep inside.
So you are able to say,
To others that need to pray;
When it is not in their heart,
Simply what they should impart.
For if we just act like fools,
Not serious of His rules;
How could God even conceive,
Eternal life we receive.
The words that we use the most,
Are corrupted as they boast;
Of the ways of earthly sin,
That makes us feel foul within.
Since it is the love of Christ,
That the heart should be enticed;
Knowing it is Him who saves,
Us from our earthly graves.
The words that are being flung,
Through the lips and off the tongue;
Should always possess their start,
Down deep within their own heart.
