Rainbow Spirit (Jeni's Song)

When the wanderlust is free,
There's somewhere else you want to be,
Seeing a vision in your own mind's eye,
Lifting a restless soul to the sky,
         (Chorus )
With a free spirit on the go,
To that distant land we know,
In a faraway voice we sing
A rainbow spirit on the wing

That restless soul in another home,
Room to search and freedom to roam,
Caledonia calls for its child to hear,
In a heart a yearn and an eye a tear,

Missing kin in a land far away,
Their love is always with her to stay,
She finds a new kindred,  a spirit of kind,
To colour a rainbow with likeness of mind
        (Chorus )
With a free spirit on the go,

A rainbow spirit on the wing

A land of dreaming will call her too,
But only her spirit knows what she'll do,
A Celtic origin or great southern land,
Her choice be written in her own hand,

Some day that spirit will come to rest,
Like a nightingale coming home to nest,
With a spirit let free and a heart so bold
Travelling the rainbow to its pot of gold,
