Inheriting the Kingdom of God
The ones who do evil merit,
Are not able to inherit;
Anything from up in Heaven,
That the righteous have been given.
Their ideas are always a fake,
And they continually forsake;
Our Lord God for desires,
Of the flesh lighting their fires.
They mix their wants with what they need,
And worship things coming from greed;
In their marriage they also cheat,
Because they are full of deceit.
They are prisoners of their sin,
Because of the corruption within;
For it continues to remain,
A burden like a ball and chain.
But I am free to do all things,
From the grace of God that it brings;
But knowing some things are not wise,
That is filled with deceit and lies.
But it is to the cross I cling,
So I can do everything;
With the power of Christ to know,
Just where I am able to go.
