The Joy of Christ
The Holy Spirit is on me,
Shining His light so I can see;
To bring the Good News to the poor,
Of salvation that is in store.
And make the broken hearted well,
So I will be able to tell;
Prisoners no longer a slave,
To death as well as to the grave.
Those in chains will see light again,
When hearing angels sing amen;
That is the time when they will know,
Our Lord Jesus Christ will show.
A time coming of good pleasure,
Christ will be sharing the treasure;
That God the Father has given,
Unto us above in Heaven.
The day of punishment from God,
For those who shun rather than laud;
And comforting those who are sad,
So once again making them glad.
The ones that have a true belief,
Ridding them the clothing of grief;
Singing praise instead of sorrow,
For joys of a new tomorrow.
