 Burglar Blues

Smash and grab
For a need you had
Silver and Gold
Brass as bold
Cup and plates
And roller-skates
Flung in a bag
Marked ‘SWAG'
Jumping over Furniture
Like a 100m hurdler
It falls on the floor
As you hear the law
You offer peace
To the police
But your caught
And end up in court
Treated like a murderer
For being a burglar
But you still cause pain
All crimes the same
No quick sale
In your cell.
