Ethereal Moments The Poetry of Donavon Scott Vinson
Beside the Still Waters
I have laid aside my old life
and embraced the newness of
life in Him.
I have accepted that wonderful
gift of salvation and am now
covered by His redeeming blood.
He has given to me a wonderful gift
that I cannot repay with anything
but my service to His church.
Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd;I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
he leadeth me beside the still waters.
he restoreth my soul: he leadeth mein the paths
of righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the sahdow of the valley
of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me;
thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the prsence of
mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil:
my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days
of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
Beside the Still Waters
Though I should wander the fields of this earth
never shall I want for Thou art with me.
Never shall I hunger nor thirst for Thou shalt
take care of me.
Never shall I fear the darkness of this world
for you are my Guiding Light.
In nothing shall I have doubt for You are truth
and the giver of life.
Never shall I fear for You are my comfort and my hope.
Your words are a sedative for my jangled nerves.
Your hands heal my wounds and touch my wounded soul
with glorious peace.
I shall lie before the still waters of your mercy and grace.
And never shall I die for Thou art the giver of eternal life.
