Care for the Flocks
With me it is more than just talk,
I do keep watch over the flock;
Not forced but as a volunteer,
Unknown when the wolf will appear.
For the wolf will not ever sleep,
When he knows about righteous sheep;
So I must keep watch till I learn,
When the Good Shepherd will return.
Such a commitment on my own,
That I decided all alone;
Keeping the flock within my sight,
Watching over both day and night.
Let all who are showing some pride,
Turn humble letting it subside;
As for being brazen and bold,
Remember what Jesus has told.
Those things that are really obscene,
Being immorally unclean;
Could be causing the flock to stray,
Down through a misguided pathway.
So I help them to see their need,
Ensured not to turn into greed;
Certain to be in one accord,
In every way with the Lord.
