We were discussing this the other night
You see someone badly beaten in a fight
So many said I would just have to walk away
I wouldn't break up every fist fight not what I say
There was this lady, man hitting her with his fist
She was half his size no way for her to resist
The fight was short, only a coward would hit a woman
But then from behind a board on my head she did stun!
So I took the board from her and said, "Guy have your fun!"
Next time I'll wait for when it is the right thing to do
There were ten or twelve youth, crushing the roof
Four kids were inside looking frightened my proof
The love of my life, "Help them don't stand aloof!"
One lonely not too bright man said, "Whats going on here?"
What a question to the other onlookers it was quite clear
"The guy inside owns the car and if it doesn't start----"
Twelve guys against one when did my brain cells part
But on that day I was a hero and onlookers clapped
And for the love of my lady in my pant I had---!
So you can't Judge others when it is the right thing to do
But myself this Irishman could not walk away to myself be true
I was twenty two. Had only known my love a week or two.
Kids running up hood and jumping crushing in the roof.
I am not totally dumb but had no choice if I coward out
So I took the guy who seemed to be the leader. I was
surprised he was afraid of me. The cops came and it was
true. The car wouldn't start and so the owner said to destroy
it. The cops said altough honorable I should have waited for
the police. There were two of us vieing for the hand of my
future bride. He ran to a payphone and called the police.
Sometimes you get lucky when it is the right thing to do.
